To further streamline the administration of the Islamic religion and Malay customs in the Perak State , the law relating thereto have been reviewed , amended and enacted several times . In 1965 , a law called the Law Administration of Muslim Law Act 1965 ( Enactment No. 11 of 1965) was enacted to replace the 1952 law . Then , on January 13, 1993 , Administrative Law Muslim Law 1965 has been replaced by the Islamic Religious Administration Enactment 1992 ( Enactment No. 1992) . Under Bill Enactment . 2 of 1992 , the Council of Religious and Malay Customs was formally incorporated as a statutory body of government . For the purpose of uniformity with other states throughout Malaysia , the Religious Administration Enactment 1992 , eventually replaced by the Islamic Religious Administration Enactment ( Perak ) 2004 ( Enactment No. 4 of 2004) . Enactment of the Bill . 4 of 2004 was enacted on 15 September 2004 and remains in force until now . Entities of Religious and Malay Customs is still maintained as a government statutory body.
